The University’s ceremonial hall area

Via two main staircases – the so-called Philosopher’s and the Lawyers’ Staircase – you reach the magnificent ceremonial hall area of the University of Vienna. This impressive area includes the Main Ceremonial Hall (Großer Festsaal), the Small Ceremonial Hall (Kleiner Festsaal), the Senate Hall (Senatssaal) as well as two cloakrooms and octagons from which you enter the ceremonial halls. These rooms are often used for conferences and symposia, including lectures and catering as well as for exhibitions including registration and wardrobe. The entire ceremonial hall area is available for events throughout the year.
