Green Meeting information for participants

Our request to you:

  • If possible, opt for an environmentally friendly way of traveling to Vienna by public transport, carpool or by bike (the event times are chosen so that public transport can be used).

  • If you make the trip by cab, please choose an environmentally friendly way of mobility, e.g. the partner greenride or Taxi40100

  • If it is not possible for you to travel by public transport, there is the possibility to have your journey CO2 compensated. With a monetary contribution equivalent to the distance you travel, you can support environmental protection projects and thus contribute to an improvement of the global climate situation. In order to make the event as a Green Event environmentally friendly also for the journey, we ask you for your cooperation.

  • Dispose of your waste (PET, glass, paper, metal, batteries, etc.) via the separate collection provided at the event.

Public transportation

There are subways, streetcars and buses at your disposal.

The Campus of the University of Vienna can be reached by tram 5 (Lazarettgasse, Lange Gasse), 43 and 44 (Lange Gasse), 37, 38, 40, 41 und 42 (Schwarzspanierstraße)‎, by bus 13A (Alser Straße/Skoda Gasse) and by the metro U2 (station Schottentor).

Tickets can be purchased online, at the airport or at any metro station and in tobacconists.


Bike

You are also welcome to arrive by bicycle. Within a radius of 30 meters from the main entrance of the Campus of the University of Vienna there are more than 150 bicycle parking spaces are available.
In addition, there are also City Bikes - stations directly taking the main entrance of the main building of the University of Vienna (10 minutes walk).


Taxi

Austria's largest cab radio center 40 100 now has a so-called so-called "green cab" fleet. This now comprises around 150 vehicles, including 130 hybrid cars, 20 natural gas cabs and some vehicles with with diesel Euro 6 standard.
