Accessible events

We are committed to ensuring that our events are accessible. We look forward to receiving your enquiries to find the best possible solution to meet your specific needs and those of your participants. If possible, funding for these services is provided by the University of Vienna and coordinated via the Conference and Event Management after registration.

Accessibility concerns more than the venue and the event itself.

In Austria, the Web Accessibility Act (WZG) (legal text in RIS (legal information system) in german ) has regulated the accessibility of websites, web applications, mobile apps, multimedia content and public sector documents since 2018.

In addition, the Federal Disability Equality Act (Bundes-Behindertengleichstellungsgesetz, BGStG) applies to both the public and private sectors and aims to enable people with disabilities to participate equally in life in society.

Please also consider accessibility when creating your event websites, web applications, mobile apps, multimedia content and documents.
