Public transport

There are subways, streetcars and buses at your disposal.

We kindly ask you to travel by public transport in an environmentally friendly way. The Main Building of the University of Vienna is barrier-free and within walking distance of the Schottentor station (U2 and tram lines 1,37,38,40,41,42,43,44,71, D).

Tickets can be purchased online, at the airport or at any metro station and in tobacconists.

Arrival by bike

You can also come to the University of Vienna by bike. More than 150 bicycle parking spaces are available in front of the University of Vienna.

In front of the main building of the University of Vienna (left half of the building by the ramp) there is a bicycle repair stand.

In addition, WienMobil Rad, the bike-sharing service of Wiener Linien with 3,000 bikes and over 200 stations throughout the city, is available to you.


Arrival by train

There are four major train stations in Vienna that are easily accessible by public transport.

Arrival by Taxi

Austria’s largest taxi dispatch centre 40 100 now also has a fleet of 'green taxis'. It comprises around 150 cars, including 130 hybrid cars, 20 taxis powered by natural gas and some diesel Euro 6 vehicles.

Car sharing is an essential part of the smart mobility of our days.

The Viennese start-up ELOOP exclusively offers electric vehicles for shared use. This minimises environmental impact and maximises social benefits.

Sharetoo is an innovative e-car sharing concept from Porsche Bank. The aim is to combine sustainable mobility with state-of-the-art technology. With around 200 vehicles in around 30 cities and municipalities, sharetoo Carsharing is one of the largest e-car sharing providers in Austria. Porsche Bank AG" is the first car sharing provider with an eco-label.
