Green Meeting information for participants
Our request to you:
Arrival
If possible, use environmentally friendly means of transport to travel to Vienna and use public transport, car-pooling or a bicycle to get around town. (The event times are scheduled in a way that enables participants to travel to the event location using public transport.)
The event times are chosen so that public transport can be used.
CO2-compensation
If it is not possible for you to travel by public transport, you can offset your CO2 emissions. With a monetary contribution equivalent to the distance you travel, you can support environmental protection projects and thus contribute to improving the global climate situation. In order to make the event an environmentally friendly Green Event/Green Meeting, we would like to ask you for your cooperation.
For further information, please visit: www.oekoevent.at/co2-kompensation-von-veranstaltungen or www.climateaustria.at.
To find out how high your ecological footprint is, you can calculate it online.
Accessibility
It is very important to us to make events barrier-free. We look forward to your enquiries so that we can best meet your and the participants' individual needs.
Please find information on Barrierefreien Veranstaltungen on our website.
Waste separation
Dispose of your waste (residual waste, PET, glass, paper, metal, batteries & accumulators, etc.) via the separate collection offered at the event.
Hotels
If possible, please choose an environmentally certified hotel (Austrian Eco-label, European Ecolabel, EMAS, etc.) and use the environmentally friendly services offered by your hotel (change towels and sheets only when necessary, etc.).
Switch off all lights and electronic devices (TV, air conditioning, heating, computer, etc.) when leaving the hotel room temporarily.
Drinking water in Vienna
Refill your empty drinking bottle with Vienna's tap water again and again instead of buying a new drinking bottle.
Vienna's drinking water is of excellent quality.
Take advantage of Vienna's drinking fountains, for example. Around 980 public places provide the best drinking water free of charge. Simply enjoy the refreshing water directly at the fountain or refill a bottle free of charge.
Reusable
Reusable is environmental protection: Prefer openly served drinks, food on dishes, milk and sugar without portion packaging, etc.
Refrain from using disposable PET water bottles and use a reusable bottle instead (see Viennese tap water).
Writing utensils
Use your own writing utensils or laptop/tablet.
Programme
Call up the programme of the event online on the website instead of printing it out.
Advantage: This way you always have the current programme!
Name badges
Return your badges / name tags to the registration desk after the end of the event if you have received any.
